Newquay Town Council is required by law to hold an Annual Parish Meeting between March and June. Generally it is held in March. This is a fantastic opportunity for Newquay Town Council to explain to the public what it has been working on over the past year and allows Newquay residents to ask questions and express their views on matters they consider of importance.
Anyone can attend this meeting however a reminder only registered electors can speak and vote. Questions put forward can be about anything in the Parish and does not have to relate to Newquay Town Council and its services. The Mayor and Councillors will be present but not in their official capacity. The Mayor will chair the meeting (or Deputy-Mayor in his absence). If not, those present vote on who may chair the meeting.
The Annual Town Meeting will be held on 19th March 2024 in St Michael’s Church at 6pm.
Following on from the Annual Parish Meeting Newquay Town Council often hosts its Annual Awards Ceremony for the Community Awards where outstanding members of the town’s community will be awarded for their achievements.
Please do come along to our Annual Parish Meetings, whether you would like to listen, have your say, find out more about the Newquay, or to watch the Awards Ceremony. It is always an extremely interesting and informative evening for all Newquay residents. We hope to see you there when they take place and look forward to hearing what you have to say about our town!
