2022-2023 Councillor Community Fund is now CLOSED.
We have implemented a new Councillor Community Fund, similar to Cornwall Council’s Community Chest, whereby each member of the Town Council has a small grant allocation to assist projects run by voluntary and community groups in Newquay. Each member will have £500 to spend in their area of the Newquay Parish on a project that affects their area.
You can apply for a grant for as little as £25 or as much as £500. The grants are available from each Councillor, and applications for smaller project costs of up to £100 are particularly welcomed. The grants are intended to support specific project costs only and are not to be used for an organisation’s running costs, staffing or administration costs.
The grants can be allocated to a wide range of groups and activities, including helping vulnerable children or adults, helping young people, providing facilities for older people, supporting community facilities, and supporting local environment projects. Applications should be for projects which deliver a clear and demonstrable benefit to the local community within the Councillor’s electoral area, such as improvements to a community centre or village hall, purchase of play and exercise equipment for community use, public events, festivals and exhibitions, etc. For more information on how to qualify for the funding, please click the link below to download the Councillor Community Fund Policy.
To apply all you need to do is ensure your project is eligible for the funding, then contact your local Town Councillor to see if they are willing to support the application and have sufficient funds in their Councillor Community Fund.
Once you have contacted your Councillor, please complete the online application form below.
Your application will then be sent to the Community Fund Panel on the Town Council who will decide whether to approve the grant and the amount to be allocated. Once the funding has been used for that financial year, no more funding is available until the next financial year.
