Newquay Town Council would like to ask the people of Newquay to join them in celebrating the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe on Friday 08 May 2020 from your homes and gardens.
When VE Day dawns on Friday 08 May it will be 75 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the second world war in Europe. Years of carnage and destruction had come to an end and millions of people took to the streets and pubs to celebrate peace, mourn their loved ones and to hope for the future.
We may not be able to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Victory in Europe as we would like, but lets all join together in celebrating it from home!
Friday 8th May – decorate your house in red, white and blue, eat, drink and be merry, and let’s all celebrate the day WWII came to an end 75 years ago, together in our homes and gardens.
Please share and get the word out! You can also share your party snaps with us using the hashtag #nqyveday75 and we’ll share as much of them as we can!
