Newquay Town Council has a vacancy for an Environment Service Operative. This role is responsible for the upkeep of footpaths and open spaces in and around Newquay. The Service routinely maintains the Killacourt, Eothen, Piazza, Beachfield Gardens and the Marcus Hill estate. The team is also responsible for introducing and maintaining new planting schemes and planters around Newquay, and also deals with other environmental and horticultural issues that fall outside of Cornwall Council’s remit. Aside from the Services’ planned maintenance programme, it also undertakes reactive work involving tip-offs from the public on areas of the Town which would benefit from some much-needed improvement.
The post holder will be 37 hours a week Monday to Sunday involving working Bank/Public holidays where the service demands.
