Newquay Town Council has a vacancy for an enthusiastic, efficient and professional Events & Projects Co-ordinator, based within the Town Clerk’s Office; on a full time 37 hour a week contract.
If you are from a event management/project manager background, with experience in event planning, risk awareness, social media, marketing and then we would like to hear from you.
The Town Council runs several annual events which are getting larger each year. It also partners with other organisations on some of the Towns largest events. This requires a significant amount of early planning and preparation. The drafting and submission of various documentation from Risk Assessments, Traffic Management Plans, Road Closure applications to Event Management Plans and Event Notification forms for Cornwall Council. The Town Council also has an increasing Social Media presence, with more and more people using it as a means of engagement. This will require skills in project and budget management. The post holder will be responsible for managing multiple events, large and small, and so the successful candidate must have strong organisation and time management skills.
The post holder will also be supporting other officers as needed as the Town Clerk’s Office is a very small team who work together on a range of projects and tasks. Interviews for shortlisted applicants are likely to be held during the week commencing Tuesday 01 June. The successful candidate will be asked to start as soon as possible.
