Newquay Town Council has a vacancy for a Full Time Maintenance Operative. As a Maintenance Operative this will mean making sure the Town Council’s buildings and assets are proactively inspected and maintained at all times. The post holder will carry out audits and make sure records are kept up to date. Whether you’re repairing the timber cladding on our business units, maintaining street furniture and benches or redecorating our public conveniences, you’ll do so with a sense of professionalism above anything else.
The Council is looking for a Maintenance Operative with solid experience in maintenance, building, DIY and cleaning. Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as ideally some IT skills would be desirable. Newquay Town Council owns and/or is directly responsible for the operation and management of 13 sets of toilets in Newquay and sees them as key assets which need to showcase the Town not just to residents, but to visitors alike. The Town Council is also responsible for the Municipal Offices, Killacourt Retail Units & Cafe, Newquay Library and Mount Wise Centre.
