  • You can also visit the Citizens Advice Bureau at Newquay Library & Information Service. These are bi-weekly drop-ins on Thursdays from 10:00 -12:15. Please contact the Library for more information.

Lucky Dip Book Bags

As of Monday 21st September, children and families can collect pre-selected “Lucky Dip” packs of books from Newquay Library & Information Service.

Customers are currently unable to browse book stock in person whilst Newquay Library is in its phased re-opening in line with Cornwall Libraries’ & government guidelines. These are aimed at keeping customers and staff safe whilst the threat of Covid 19 remains.

To make life a little easier, Newquay Library are offering two new services for families & Children!

From 21st of September, pre-selected “Lucky Dip” packs of 6 picture books suitable for younger children will be available to collect from the Library – no pre-reservation or browsing required!

You will also be able to request a more tailored pack of books for your child. Just email us at Newquay.library@LISCornwall.org.uk with your name, the name & age of the child, and the Library card number to be used. Please note: The pack should be available on the next Library open day after the request and will be held for 1 week. Do let the Library know if your child has any reading preferences. Staff will carefully prepare packs of:

  • Children’s picture books
  • Children’s non-fiction
  • Children’s fiction

Please note, books in the packs will have been quarantined for 72 hours following their return from any previous borrowers but will have been handled by staff using appropriate health & safety measures in order to assemble the packs. Packs will be available whilst stocks last.
